Editorial standards
The rules we hold ourselves to, written plainly so you can hold us to them too.
No paid placement
Brands cannot buy a position, a category or a mention. We do not send drafts to manufacturers for approval.
No invented social proof
We do not publish review counts, star averages or testimonial quotes that we did not collect ourselves.
No unsupported superlatives or health claims
We avoid language implying clinical benefit, pain treatment or laboratory testing we have not performed. Firmness figures are approximations of manufacturer descriptions.
Tradeoffs are published
Every recommendation names at least two considerations. A recommendation without a real drawback is incomplete.
Corrections
Email editors@bestmattress.ca with a correction and we will fix the page and update the review date. Substantive changes are noted in the page copy.
Independence from revenue
Affiliate commissions fund the site but are excluded from ranking decisions. See our methodology and affiliate disclosure for the full picture.
